The Young Family operated it continuously from 1972 until September 2024, when they passed ownership to a new family, adding up to more than five decades under family stewardship. The building is single-story, constructed from brick, stucco, and stonework, with parking assigned directly in front of every room and a covered outdoor sitting area outside each unit. The views from those sitting areas are of the Zion canyon walls, the same red sandstone formations visible from inside the park. The shuttle stop for the free Zion Canyon Shuttle is directly across the street. Springdale sits at the south entrance to Zion National Park, a canyon town that grows to thousands of daily visitors in peak season.
