About Spoke and Vine Motel
Jody and Jeff bought the Spoke and Vine in late 2018 and renovated what had been a 1955 motel in Palisade, Colorado, into a wine-country base designed for the way people actually visit the Grand Valley. Palisade is the center of one of the most underestimated wine regions in the United States, its semiarid climate and Colorado River position producing conditions that have been surprising visitors since the 1890s. The name references both the bicycle culture of the Grand Valley and the grapevines outside the door. Three tasting rooms are within walking distance of the property, and the main street of Palisade is a short walk from the front door.

An outdoor courtyard holds a fire pit, seating, and dedicated bike parking. Free on-site parking runs alongside the motel building. Bikes are available to borrow for guests who want to tour the tasting rooms without moving a car. The motel sits on West 8th Street in Palisade, within walking distance of the town's core, three wineries, and the banks of the Colorado River a few blocks south.
The Experience
Palisade is one of those Colorado towns where the pace changes on arrival. No ski lifts, no resort infrastructure: just fruit orchards, vineyards, a river, and a main street that has not been overbuilt. The Spoke and Vine puts you inside this rather than at it. Borrow a bike in the morning, hit two tasting rooms before lunch, and be back on the courtyard with a local pour by mid-afternoon. Colorado National Monument is 30 minutes west when the wine country calls for a landscape break.
