About The Roscoe Boutique Motel
The Roscoe Motor Inn opened in the mid-1980s at 421 South Whitewoman Street, at the south end of Historic Roscoe Village, the restored 19th-century canal town that draws visitors to Coshocton from across Ohio. Del and Mary Smith ran it for nearly four decades, building a reputation for clean rooms and a warm welcome. Kirby and Amy Hasseman, Coshocton residents, purchased the property in September 2023 and renovated all rooms over the following year. Coshocton's position at the junction of the Walhonding and Tuscarawas Rivers, where the Ohio and Erie Canal ran its longest straight section, made it one of the most active canal ports in Ohio in the 1820s through 1840s. Roscoe Village, half a mile north, is a restoration of that era: period-accurate shops, a working canal boat, and the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum.
