The Kelley family has owned Agate Beach Motel since 1989, inheriting a property whose origin reaches back to the 1940s, when it served as a modest motor lodge on this stretch of the Oregon coast. The family has spent the decades since holding on to what the place already was: a cliff above Agate Beach, with the Pacific visible from every door. Yaquina Head, one of the most dramatic headlands on the Oregon coast, rises one mile to the north. The Kelleys also operate Wall Street Suites in Bend, a two-property Pacific Northwest portfolio built on the same independent, family-forward philosophy.
