A group of Bellingham locals rescued a tired 1950s roadside property and rebuilt it with custom furniture from a woodworker down the road and art by their neighbors. Evenings gather around the fire pit out on the front lawn, close enough to walk to dinner downtown and back.

Hotel McCoy Pullman

Pullman, WA

A 1960 roadside property reborn as a color-soaked art hotel, wrapped in thirty-foot murals with retro video games and puzzles waiting in every room. Mornings begin at a communal oatmeal bar and evenings drift up to a moondeck built for toasting marshmallows under a telescope.

Walla Walla, WA

A modern revival of a 1960s motor inn at the edge of downtown Walla Walla, with custom local artwork in every room, an outdoor wood-burning fireplace, and guide staff loaded with knowledge of the valley's tasting rooms. The basecamp concept earns its name in one of Washington's most walkable wine destinations.
